Danish Conference

The Danish colloquium took place on the 1st of August 2013 in Nordsøen Oceanarium in Hirtshals, Northern Jutland, in connection with the yearly Fish Festival.

The combined science park, aquarium and dissemination center in Hirtshals was chosen as an ideal context for generating dialogue about the Transparent Boundaries project – with special emphasis on cultural exchange from the traditional fishermen culture to present day society. With the fishing net as a metaphorical lace, fragments of myths and traditions from the older generation were highlighted and reinterpreted to form a reference point for dialogue amongst the elders and the young people visiting the centre; in the intersection between reality and imagination.

The exhibition Fish Tales : Fiskeskrøner was opened on the 1st of August and is open to the public until the 31st of August.
